These FAQs are here to help you understand how I work and why structure matters. Clear policies create freedom: they let us spend less energy on logistics and more on what really counts—your growth, your clarity, your becoming.

About My Coaching
-
Co-Active Coaching Institute (CTI) has been called the “gold standard” of coaching by the Institute of Coaching, a Harvard Medical School affiliate that has linked the four cornerstones of the Co-Active Model to evidence-based scientific research. CTI was the first organization accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and is home to the seminal text in coach training programs worldwide.
Very simply, Co-Active means “being in action together.” The Co-Active Coaching model asserts that the coach and coachee are equal collaborators in an empowered, co-created alliance designed to meet the coachee’s needs.

The Exploratory Process is a complimentary four-part experience designed to help you clarify what you want from coaching—and ensure I’m the right fit for the journey ahead.
1. Meet Your Coach
I start with a conversation to orient you to coaching and to one another. You’ll share where you are and what’s drawing you to coaching. I’ll explain how coaching works, including confidentiality, session flow, and your preferences and sensitivities. This first meeting helps us gauge chemistry and begin imagining what’s possible.2. Develop Coaching Outcome Statements
Next, I’ll help you explore what you’d like to shift or strengthen. Together, we’ll identify themes, desired outcomes, and the conditions that support your growth. Between sessions, I’ll draft preliminary outcome statements based on what we uncover.3. Review Coaching Outcome Statements
In this session, I’ll share your draft outcomes so we can refine them until they clearly reflect your goals and how you’ll measure success. This is also a chance to confirm that our partnership feels aligned and energizing.4. Discuss Investment
Finally, I’ll walk you through what it means to invest in this work—your time, effort, attention, and financial commitment—and recommend the engagement structure that best supports your goals. Why I Offer This Process
This process exists so we can build and test the foundation of a coaching relationship before making a commitment. It’s a sandbox for curiosity, honesty, and discovery—for both of us. I want to choose my clients as intentionally as they choose me. That mutual choice creates meaning and accountability on both sides, ensuring I’m as invested in your progress as you are. It also stretches what many people imagine coaching can be: a partnership built on trust, rigor, and possibility. -
Human-centered design and design thinking are creative problem-solving methods that help you see challenges—and possibilities—through a fresh lens. While often used by product and experience designers, they’re powerful, approachable tools for anyone who wants to think differently about work, life, or relationships.
These methods start with empathy: understanding the real needs, perspectives, and emotions of the people involved (including you). From there, we challenge assumptions, explore multiple options, and test small, low-risk experiments—what I call “learning in motion.”
I use these tools because they make growth tangible. You’ll strengthen your creativity and neuroplasticity, uncover new insights, and learn through both reflection and playful action. Bring your curiosity, and the rest unfolds from there.

Yes—and that’s exactly the point. People come to coaching for all kinds of reasons, but underneath them all is the desire for discovery, awareness, and choice. Play sparks those things. It opens imagination, creativity, and problem-solving, while fostering emotional well-being and genuine connection—all within a safe, consequence-free space.
In a world that often feels volatile, uncertain, complex, and entirely too serious, play is a radical act of healing. So, yes, I take play seriously. And I’ll invite you to do the same—by giving yourself permission to have a little fun. *wink*
-
Yes. I help clients design work—and lives—that feel aligned, purposeful, and sustainable. Together, we make clarity in your career choices approachable and actionable. That might mean refining your direction, brushing up on interviewing skills, or mapping the next right move rather than just the next move.
I often recommend a day-and-a-half workshop to jumpstart your progress, followed by biweekly sessions to support momentum and accountability. It’s an engaging, interactive way to see your work life with new eyes, grounded in your whole life—not siloed from it.
Because while I offer career coaching, my approach is always whole-person. Work is just one thread in the tapestry of your life, interwoven with health and wellbeing, money, personal growth, relationships, creativity, and even where you live. When you rebalance one area—like career—you inevitably rebalance the whole.

Coaching is an investment in yourself—much like working with a personal trainer, pursuing an education, or consulting a financial advisor to reach your goals. Because coaching is not considered a medical or mental health service, it isn’t eligible for insurance coverage, and I don’t work directly with any insurance carriers.
To make coaching more accessible, I offer prepaid bundles and subscription options that reduce the per-session rate and reward your ongoing commitment to your own growth.
-
Yes. I offer discounted rates through prepaid and subscription options as a thank-you for your commitment to the coaching process.
Citizen Packages are prepaid bundles of appointments that allow you to invest in your growth up front and enjoy a lower per-session rate.
Seeker Subscriptions renew automatically on a biweekly or monthly billing cycle, giving you flexibility and consistency as you build momentum.
Both packages and subscriptions are non-refundable and non-transferable and expire 12 to 18 months from purchase, depending on the package. Refunds are issued only if services end for reasons other than client choice or cause.
-
A $10.00 service charge will be charged for any payments returned for any reason for special handling. Unresolved balances will result in a hold on appointment scheduling; when the balance is resolved, sessions may resume.
-
Why, yes—there is! I’ve designed a client experience that makes scheduling, reminders, and attendance as seamless as possible. The app is your companion for keeping everything organized so you can focus on the work that matters most.
When you schedule an appointment, your confirmation page will include a QR code that takes you directly to the app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
From the app, you can view your appointments, manage scheduling changes or cancellations, handle payments, and adjust your notifications—anytime, day or night. Everything you do in the app automatically syncs with your online account for a smooth, connected experience.
Your information is protected by a HIPAA-secure client portal with a username and password you control.
Communication, Conduct, + Closure
-
For your privacy, I can’t guarantee the confidentiality of communication through electronic media such as email or text messages. Because of this, all scheduling and cancellations are handled through the secure client portal.
If you prefer to reach out by email about general topics (not related to session content), that’s fine—just know that those messages aren’t considered confidential. I do my best to respond promptly, but I can’t guarantee immediate replies. Please don’t use email or text for emergencies or to discuss coaching content.
-
Yes. An emphatic yes.
Respectful, professional conduct is how I do business. It protects the mission of CiTiZEN+SEEKER, creates psychological safety, and makes it possible for coaching to actually work. Everyone connected to this work deserves to be treated with dignity — clients, collaborators, vendors, and anyone else doing business with me.
What’s not okay?
Any discriminatory, harassing, hostile, or offensive action or communication toward someone because of their protected status — including, but not limited to, race, color, religion, sex, gender, marital status, national origin or ancestry, age, disability, pregnancy, creed, citizenship status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, or genetic information — is prohibited. This applies even if the behavior doesn’t rise to the level of a legal violation, and it may be grounds for ending services for cause. At the same time, I believe in humans. If a conduct issue arises, I will talk with you directly.
If you believe that I or any CiTiZEN+SEEKER affiliate has violated this Code of Conduct, please report it in writing to helloworld@citizenandseeker.com right away.
-
Yes. Endings matter.
While I love supporting clients over time, the true goal of coaching is to help you build sustainable resilience, achieve your goals, and carry what you’ve learned into the wider world. Coaching relationships also depend on chemistry and timing, and sometimes one or both naturally shift. If that happens, I believe in closing well—with conversation, clarity, and respect.
That said, coaching engagements are not for a fixed term and may be ended at any time by either party, with or without cause and without prior notice.
Refunds are not issued for prepaid, non-refundable packages or subscriptions unless CiTiZEN+SEEKER is unable to fulfill the service commitment or if termination occurs for reasons not related to client choice or cause.
Closure is both a practical and a human process—it’s how we honor the work, celebrate growth, and leave the door open for what’s next.
